One of our BNA players, Olivia Cognetta (Rep and Kedron Lions) has come up with a wonderful idea to help those experiencing homelessness in the community. Olivia’s turning odd socks, soap, ribbon and a bit of hard work into personal hygiene products for the homeless.

She’s already got arrangements to supply Orange Sky Laundry and Make a Difference to make sure this great idea is spread far and wide.

If you have any odd socks at home (the ones the washing machine leaves behind instead of eating!) Olivia would love to take them off your hands and turn them into washers to make life just a little bitter easier for someone sleeping rough.

We’ll have an “Odd Sock’ box set up in the BNA clubhouse for the next few weeks of fixtures. Simply drop your clean, unwanted odd socks in and Olivia and her mum will collect them to be reused.

You can read more about Olivia’s great idea in this article from the Bayside Star.
