Netball Queensland would like to invite you to ‘register your interest’ to participate in our new Walking Netball Fixtures Program held at the Brisbane Netball Association, 468 Rode Rd, Chermside.

WHEN:      Tuesday Evenings from 7pm starting on the 9th October.

WHERE:   Brisbane Netball Association, 468 Rode Rd, Chermside.

COST:          $96 for an 8-week season = $12 per game.

Fees include: Insurance, court hire, equipment, umpires, first aid, and organisational costs. A registration and payment link will be emailed to you closer to the start date.

Walking Netball is a slower version of the game; it is netball, but at a walking pace. The game has been designed so anyone can play, regardless of age, ability or fitness level.

It’s a great way to stay active with minimal risk of injury, increase fitness and meet a bunch of new friends. Our sessions are fun and full of laughter and I encourage anyone that might be feeling nervous about trying something new or coming alone to join in. We promise to make sure everyone feels welcome.

  • No running or jumping – one foot must be on the ground at all times.
  • 4 seconds to throw the ball.
  • You get an extra step so you don’t have to stop so suddenly.
  • You must be four feet away before you can defend your player.

The evening session at BNA will be a Competitive Session ONLY! It is a gentle version of traditional netball but you must still be steady enough on your feet to be able to take a knock from the opposition without losing your balance. The ball does move quickly up and down the court so balance and mobility is essential.

We also run Social Sessions during the day at Brendale, North Lakes and Morayfield if you would like to be involved in a less competitive and slower session.

PLEASE REMEMBER: Walking Netball is all about fun, laughter and participation. We put teams together on the night so you don’t have to register as a team. You will get the opportunity to play with lots of different people and make lots of new friends.

We are also looking for some volunteer umpires to help out. Walking Netball is a very relaxed game, you don’t need to be an expert to umpire. Most of our sessions are self-umpired – the person that is standing off umpires.
