2018 TIP Team Announcements

NEWS – NEW FORMAT

We are excited to announce those players selected into our TIP program. As you will see we have changed the format of the program this year and have introduced TIP trainers, as well as TIP players. If you have been selected into either of these groups, please ensure that you read all of the information in this pack.

Selected Players have been listed in age group squads. Please ensure you read all of the information so that you are aware of the requirements for your selection. Players will be assigned into teams prior to the first training session (13-15 years) and advised by email, or within the first 1-2 weeks of fixtures (12 years). All players listed in a 12 – 15 year squad will be placed in a TIP team.

Trainers will participate in weekly skill sessions each Monday night. They will not play as a TIP team in the Wednesday night fixtures and are expected to play in a club team in the Summer competition.

Please ensure that you read the information relevant to your selection. If you have been selected as a player please read Part 1, if you have been selected as a trainer please read part 2.

IF YOU WERE NOT SELECTED THIS TIME…
We were again very pleased to see a high skill level across the players who trialed for this program. Unfortunately we were unable to accommodate all players, therefore some players have missed out on selection this time.

Selection into the TIP program is NOT a prerequisite for selection in a 2019 representative team. Remember players develop at different rates and achieve at different times. Therefore, if you are not selected into the TIP program, please ensure that you do not miss the representative team trials in early 2019. If you were not selected then you may seek feedback on your trial performance by emailing rep@brisbanenetball.org.au within two weeks of the announcement of the program (by 3 September). Please be aware that it may take up to two weeks for the feedback to be compiled and provided to you. Any requests made after 3 September 2018 unfortunately will not be considered. Players selected into the program (as a player or a trainer) will not be given feedback on their trial, as they will be provided feedback from their TIP coaches throughout the program.

PART 1 – INFORMATION FOR 12 – 15 YEARS PLAYERS
(TRAINERS PLEASE READ PART 2)
COMMITMENT
The level of commitment required is as follows:

12 – 15 years Players – Monday nights commencing on 8 October 2018. Players will be initially named in a squad. Players will be notified of their placement into individual teams and advised of their training time by email by the end of September 2018. Training times will be between 5.30-8.30pm (for a two hour block).

From time to time the 12 – 15 years Players will have a specialist session or guest coaches visiting which may mean a change to their training times. Dates of the specialist sessions will be announced at the start of the TIP season. In addition tothis, shooters may be required to attend specialist shooting training, outside of their regular training times. Players will be notified of this at the start of the season.

The first game will be on Wednesday 10 October 2018. Players are required to attend training every Monday night and to play in the Wednesday night fixture at the time as specified in the fixture draw.

Players are expected to attend all training and/or games as outlined above. Failure to attend training will result in you forfeiting your position in the program. This may also affect your eligibility for selection in future rep teams.

This must be returned at the end of the Summer Season. If you are then selected into a rep team, you will be required to buy a rep uniform in 2019. 12 years players and new players may wear plain black bikepants under the dress for the Summer Season. All other players should wear the red BNA bikepants.

All Players must wear a red BNA training singlet to all training sessions. If you do not have a singlet or require a new one, these will be available for purchase on Monday 8 October 2018 between 5.00pm – 6.00pm at BNA. This is the only opportunity you will have to purchase training singlets. These need to be paid for at the time of purchase.

12 years players and new players must attend before training on Monday 8 October 2018 to collect hire dresses from 5.00pm – 6.00pm. These may be paid for by direct deposit prior to this date, or can be paid for by cash, cheque or EFTPOS on the night. Hire dresses and singlets cannot be collected without payment having been received.

There are limited sizes available in hire dresses, therefore we recommend you arrive early on 8 October 2018 to ensure that you get a suitable size.

All players wishing to hire a dress must complete the Dress Hire Agreement – TIP Dress Hire Agreement 2018.19
