What is Suncorp NetSetGO?

Suncorp NetSetGO is Australia’s official starter program for girls and boys aged 5 to 9. It’s a chance to learn the netball basics, get outside and make some friends. For a lot of kids, this is the first time they’ll pick up a netball or chuck on a bib. It’s a learning experience. And a lot of fun.

Suncorp NetSetGO is divided up into three tiers: Net, Set and GO. Where you start depends on your age and netball experience.

As you move through the tiers, you’ll pick up more advanced netball skills. One week it might be passing drills and ball games, next it could be shooting and practice matches. All Suncorp NetSetGO sessions are led by a friendly netball coach, using equipment built specially for kids.

What will my child learn?

§  Correct landing

§  Pivoting

§  Change of Direction

§  Passing and Catching

§  Netball Positions

§  Using Space

§  Teamwork

What tier is right for my child?

The three tiers, NetSet and GO, are determined as follows for the upcoming Winter Program.  There is no requirement to have completed one tier before being able to participate in a higher tier in NetSetGO – e.g.  you can enrol in Set if you have not done Net so long as you are the correct age!

  • Net is for 5- and 6-year olds (born 2015 or 2014) and teaches fundamental motor skills through dance, music and games. Registrations for Net players are open! Click here to register.

  • Set is for all 7-year olds and new to netball 8-year olds (born 2013 or 2012) and focuses on refining fundamental motor skills and introducing modified netball matches. Players will compete in weekly fixture games as part of this program. Registrations for Set players are now open! Click here to register.
  •
  • GO is recommended for 8-year olds (born 2012) who have already completed the Set program and wanting to participate in full modified games each week and all 9-year olds (born 2011). This level focuses on developing netball specific skills through modified netball matches. To participate, Players need to contact and register with a BNA Club.  Clubs will assign players into teams and may also train throughout the season on an alternate afternoon/evening. When are the NetSetGO Sessions held?

The Net and Set programs run for 10 weeks commencing Saturday 9th May 2020 and conclude on Saturday 8th August with a fun-filled Presentation and Break Up morning where players will be presented with their certificates and enjoy lots of fun activities and food.
