Brisbane Netball Association Celebrating 50 Years

In 2021 BNA will open nominations for players who wish to be considered for selection into a State Age team in the 12 to 15 years age groups (born 2006 to 2009). These players will compete at the Netball Queensland State Age Championships in July 2021. Players in the 17, 19 and Open age groups are eligible to trial for Queensland Premier League.

Development teams will also be selected in any age group where there is the appropriate level and balance to select such a team.

Being selected in a 2021 State Age team requires the following commitment –

§  Attend representative team trials on 20th/21st February 2021;

§  Attend a uniform fitting on Saturday 27th February 2021 and purchase all necessary uniform items (if new, then approximately $350. Some uniform items are available secondhand);

§  Attend a Welcome Night on 1st March 2021;

§  Pay fees associated with events;

§  Attend training sessions as set by your coach – generally once or twice per week (commencing in March 2021);

§  Attend carnivals as set by the BNA Rep Convenor – up to 5 per season held on a Sunday including BNA carnival on Sunday 28th March 2021, PRNA carnival on 6th June 2021 and DPNA carnival on 13th June 2021;

§  In addition to the carnivals above, all Development teams will also be attending Redlands Rep Carnival on 16th May 2021; 

§  Attend the State Age Championships from 3-6 July 2021 at Sunshine Coast Netball Association.

2021 Representative Players Agreement STATE AGE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The State Age Championships will be held from 3-6 July 2021 and up to two teams will be selected in each age group from 12 years to 15 years. The event will be held at Sunshine Coast Netball Association and players will be required to arrange their own transport to and from the event each day - we will not be travelling as an Association.

You must be able to meet the commitments necessary of being selected into a 2021 representative team if you intend on trialing for selection. For further information, email Rep Convenor, Kate Lister at rep@brisbanenetball.org.au.

Nominations close: Saturday 13th February 2021
Nomination fee: $15.00 per player
Late Nomination Fee: $20.00 per player (after 13th February 2021)

12 years State Age (born 2009) – Saturday, 20 February @ 8am

13 years State Age (born 2008) – Saturday 20 February @ 11am

14 years State Age (born 2007) – Saturday 20 February @ 2pm

15 years State Age (born 2006) – Sunday 21 February @ 1pm

Trials will be held at Wavell State High School Sports Hall.
Enter via Childers Street on the west side. This is the continuation of Bristol Road. If you come from the east, you will not be able to drive through Childers Street to the sports hall, as this gate will not be open. A map of the grounds can be accessed here. 

Each session will run for approximately 2 -2 ½ hours.

Development: $240.00 per player

We are always looking for officials to support our State Age teams. Each team requires a coach, manager and umpire. Officials’ nomination forms are available here.
