Brisbane Netball Association Representative Umpiring

Expression of Interest - Closes Friday 31st December 2021

Are you a nationally badged umpire looking to take the next step in your umpiring journey?

If you are wanting to transition from club umpiring to Rep umpiring for your association or looking to consolidate your skills further, then representative umpiring is an option as part of your individual umpiring development pathway.

Expressions of Interest are now available to those BNA umpires who are interested in representative umpiring at the following competitions in 2022!

Association competitions available:

    • BNA Rep Trials – early 2022
    • Rep Carnivals (various locations and dates throughout South East Qld)
    • NISSAN Qld Senior State Age (15 – 17 years): 30th April – 2nd May 2022 (Location TBA)
    • NISSAN Qld Junior State Age (12 - 14 years): 2nd – 5th July 2022 July 2022 (Location TBA)
    • Greater Brisbane Netball League (GBNL): Thursday (Opens) & Friday (16, 18, 23s) @ NISSAN Arena from May 2022

Other competitions are available to umpires click here for more information *specific selection criteria apply to these competitions as they are not managed by BNA. It is recommended umpires check with specific organisations for more information about these opportunities. 

Brisbane Netball Association Representative Selection Criteria:

  1. Current and valid on court accreditation (as per MyNetball records) – Nationally C badged or higher
  2. Ability - rule knowledge and application, communication 
  3. Fitness - Position, Vision, Timing and attendance at any compulsory S&C sessions and fitness testing
  4. Commitment and availability on required dates and times

a.       Physical attendance at compulsory BNA Umpire meetings on either 5th or 10th March 2022

b.       Available to umpire at BNA Rep Trials in early 2022 (date TBC) 

c.       Available to umpire at the BNA Rep Carnival

5.  A valid Working with Children check (no check, no umpire) for those umpires aged 18 years+

6.  Expression of Interest submitted on time
7.  Must be able to provide own transport to and from all events

For NISSAN State Age and GBNL selection, further selection criteria apply:

  1.  Available to umpire at a minimum of 3 Rep Carnivals in 2022
  2. Must be able to umpire &/or reserve at any GBNL round time
  3.  Can attend the NISSAN State Age Carnival on dates above if required (own transport & accommodation required)
  4. A completed Expression of Interest does not automatically guarantee selection for GBNL or NISSAN State Age 2022
  5. If selected, you agree that BNA is the primary Association that you will umpire for and preference is given to BNA as a priority.
