The first stage of the accreditation process is to complete a Foundation coaching course. The general principles component of this course is completed online through the Australian Sports Commission website. There is also a sport-specific component of this course, which is a four-hour session run through Netball Queensland. See the Netball Queensland website for more details in regards to when these courses are held.

The BNA strongly recommends that all Club Coaches gain the minimum Foundation Coaching Course qualification as this is a requirement for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance cover.

Non-playing Coaches must also be registered as non-playing officials (unless the coach is also a player with a club). The cost of registering as a non-playing official is $40 per year (from March to March).

If you are interested in gaining a higher level of coaching accreditation you can then progress through and complete the Development, Intermediate, Advanced, Elite, and High Performance levels of accreditation.

You are required to update your coaching accreditation and to keep a logbook for this purpose. See the Netball Australia website for details as to what is required in order to update/maintain your accreditation.

Working With Children Suitability Check
The BNA requires all Club Officials (Coaches, Managers and Umpires) to undergo the Working with Children Suitability Check for the protection of our children and yourself. A form is available here. Once you have completed this form, please contact Admin at BNA on 3350 2035 or to organise a time to have your required identification (one must have the signature of applicant) approved. BNA will submit your volunteer Blue Card application on your behalf. There is no cost to apply.
