COVID Guidelines

Everyone attending our venue must comply with the BNA COVID-19 safety plan so please follow these guidelines:
  • Only 1 parent/carer per player will be permitted to watch courtside (no siblings allowed).  All other persons must either remain in their car or leave the venue and return later.
  • The 1 parent/carer accompanying the player will be issued with a BNA Permitted Spectator lanyard which must be worn and visible at all times whilst at the courts for the NetSetGO session. Our roaming COVID safety officers will ask all spectators without a lanyard to leave the venue immediately.
  • All spectators must remain socially distanced in the designated spectator areas at all times – do not congregate together and socialise.

NetSetGO is back!

NSG - We're Back

We are excited to announce that this year's NetSetGO program will commence on Saturday 22nd August,2020 as an extended 12 week program! The later start date has been chosen to allow for parents to be courtside to support their children as COVID restrictions are (hopefully) relaxed!

Please read the below information for further details and to register via the links provided!

The Brisbane Netball Association will again be holding a Winter 2020 NetSetGO program at Bradbury Park, 470 Rode Road, Chermside QLD on Saturday Mornings.

What is Suncorp NetSetGO?

Suncorp NetSetGO is Australia’s official starter program for girls and boys aged 5 to 9. It’s a chance to learn the netball basics, get outside and make some friends. For a lot of kids, this is the first time they’ll pick up a netball or chuck on a bib. It’s a learning experience. And a lot of fun.

Suncorp NetSetGO is divided up into three tiers: Net, Set and GO. Where you start depends on your age and netball experience.

As you move through the tiers, you’ll pick up more advanced netball skills. One week it might be passing drills and ball games, next it could be shooting and practice matches. All Suncorp NetSetGO sessions are led by a friendly netball coach, using equipment built specially for kids.

What will my child learn?

§  Correct landing

§  Pivoting

§  Change of Direction

§  Passing and Catching

§  Netball Positions

§  Using Space

§  Teamwork

What tier is right for my child, and where do I register?

The three tiers, NetSet and GO, are determined as follows for the upcoming Winter Program.  There is no requirement to have completed one tier before being able to participate in a higher tier in NetSetGO – e.g.  you can enrol in Set if you have not done Net so long as you are the correct age! The below age recommendations are based on the age that they are turning in 2020.

  • Net is for 5-6 year olds (born 2015 or 2014). It's all about picking up basic movement skills. Get ready to run a lot, catch a lot, and play a lot of ball games. Registrations for Net are now full, and we cannot take on any more players. Our next NetSetGO program is starting in March/April of 2021 - we hope to see you then!

  • Set is for all 7-year olds and new to netball 8-year olds (born 2013 or 2012). It's a bit more netball-focused. You'll play practice matches, learn to pivot and work on those lightning passes. Players will compete in weekly fixture games as part of this program. Registrations for Set are now full, and we cannot take on any more players. Our next NetSetGO program is starting in March/April of 2021 - we hope to see you then!

  • GO is recommended for 8-year olds (born 2012) who have already completed the Set program and wanting to participate in full modified games each week and all 9-year olds (born 2011). You'll build on the fundamentals, play modified netball matches, and run some more advanced drills. To participate, Players need to contact and register with a BNA Club. Clubs will assign players into teams and may also train throughout the season. For a list of Clubs and contact details, click here.
All 9 year olds must register with a Club to participate in GO, regardless of previous netball experience. The players will be given opportunities to learn the skills and rules during their training sessions and modified games.

When are the NetSetGO sessions held?

The revised Net and Set programs run for 12 weeks commencing Saturday 22nd August 2020 and conclude on Saturday 21st November with a fun-filled Presentation and Break Up morning where players will be presented with their certificates and enjoy lots of fun activities and food.

For players participating in SET in 2020:

Our 2020/21 Summer Night Season is beginning on Tuesday 20th & Wednesday 21st October, 2020. This presents an opportunity for players born in 2012 & 2013 to continue with their current SET program on a Saturday, as well as register to play modified netball games as part of the ‘GO’ division on Tuesday nights! These games are played at 5.30pm, with the season running from 20/10/20-16/02/21.

If your player is born in 2012 or 2013, and this is something you would be interested in, you will need to register them with one of our 5 Affiliated Clubs. Clubs will then assign players into teams. Most club teams will also train throughout the season, usually on a weekday afternoon/evening. Please click here to find a list of our Clubs that you should contact directly to receive further information on how to register, fees, uniforms, and training times. Registrations are starting to open in the coming days, so we recommend starting to enquire with Clubs in the very near future! Some of our Clubs may also be handing out some flyers about this upcoming season around the courts this week, so be sure to grab one! For further general information about the 2020/21 Summer Night Season, please follow this link.

If your player is not born in 2012 or 2013, we hope that you will continue to enjoy the current NetSetGO program and consider joining us in April 2021 when our next program is set to begin!

2020/21 Summer Night Season Playing Divisions:

To decide on the most appropriate division for players born 2013-2010 (7-10 years) for the 2020/21 Summer Night Season, please refer to the below information and talk to your chosen Club.

NB: Your Club will make the final determination of the level at which your player will participate in.
