Brisbane Netball Association Celebrating 50 Years

Our next NetSetGO program at Brisbane Netball Association will held during our Winter 2021 season commencing on 8th May 2021 at Bradbury Park, 470 Rode Rd, Chermside QLD on Saturday mornings from 8.00am

Suncorp NetSetGO is a fun, safe, social and active program for girls and boys aged 5 to 9. It gives children of all abilities a positive introduction to netball and teaches them the basic skills of the sport.

Suncorp NetSetGO is divided into three tiers; Net, Set and GO. Where you start depends on your age and netball experience.

As you move through the tiers, you'll pick up more advanced netball skills. Participants will take part in skill-based activities, minor games, and modified match play that will help them develop fundamental movement skills, as well as important social skills. Each session will be led by a trained coach, using modified equipment.

• Correct landing
• Pivoting
• Change of Direction
• Passing and Catching
• Netball Positions
• Using Space
• Teamwork

The three tiers, Net, Set and GO, are determined as follows for the upcoming Winter Program. There is no requirement to have completed one tier before being able to participate in a higher tier in NetSetGO – e.g.  you can enrol in Set if you have not done Net so long as you are the correct age! The below age recommendations are based on the age that they are turning in 2021. 

• Net is for 5-6 year olds (born 2016 or 2015). It's all about picking up basic movement skills. Get ready to run a lot, catch a lot, and play a lot of ball games.

• Set is for all 7-year olds and new to netball 8-year olds (born 2014 or 2013). It's a bit more netball-focused. You'll play practice matches, learn to pivot and work on those lightning passes. Players will compete in modified fixture games towards the end of this program. Click here to register now to the SET program or via the NetballConnect App.

• GO is recommended for 8-year olds (born 2013) who have already completed the Set program and wanting to participate in full modified games each week and all 9-year olds (born 2012). You'll build on the fundamentals, play modified netball matches, and run some more advanced drills. To participate, Players need to contact and register with a BNA Club. Clubs will assign players into teams and may also train throughout the season. Every Suncorp NetSetGO participant will get a pack when they register. It’s packed with great netball goodies, including:

• Size 4 custom SSN inspired ball based on the SSN team participants select when registering 
• Suncorp NetSetGO T-shirt 

Closer to the commencement of the Winter 2021 NetSetGO program, an email will also be sent out to all Net and Set registered players providing parents with further detailed information about the program, where to go and what to wear etc.
