Volunteer Opportunity - Treasurer

Brisbane Netball Association (BNA) is seeking a dedicated and community-minded individual to join our Board as Treasurer for a two-year term. This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing the Association's financial performance, ensuring sound governance, transparency, and accountability across all financial activities.

The Treasurer plays a vital part in supporting the growth and sustainability of our Association. Working closely with the President and Board members, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide general financial oversight and ensure transparent management of BNA's funds
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and monitor expenditure against forecasts
  • Oversee financial record keeping and reporting to the Board and members
  • Prepare and present financial reports for Board meetings and the AGM
  • Ensure compliance with Queensland's incorporation laws, audit requirements, and BNA's constitution and by-laws
  • Act as a signatory on BNA's bank accounts and financial facilities
  • Liaise with staff and volunteers to ensure sound financial processes and controls are in place
  • Manage assigned portfolios, contributing to the delivery of strategic and operational outcomes across BNA (e.g. Member Protection, Governance & Policy, Facilities etc)

We are looking for someone who is honest, reliable, and committed to the values of community sport. You must be comfortable managing budgets and financial reporting, as well as being skilled in communication with strong attention to detail. You will ideally have experience in a similar treasury, finance or leadership role (not-for-profit experience desirable) and be willing to work collaboratively as part of an engaged volunteer Board.

The successful applicant must have (or have the ability to obtain) a Working with Children (Blue Card) clearance and a willingness to complete a National Police Check prior to appointment.
