Brisbane Netball would like to provide coaches with development opportunities to expand the depth of coaches across the association. The information outlined below details 6 levels of coaching qualifications.
Brisbane Netball strongly recommends all coaches to obtain their Foundation Course as a minimum but we strongly encourage coaches to continue to achieve a higher-level accreditation. The Foundation Coaching Course is a requirement for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance cover.
It is also encouraged for coaches to complete the umpiring exam to ensure that coaches at all levels have a true and complete understanding and knowledge of the rules.
Non-playing Coaches must also be registered as non-playing officials (unless the coach is also a player with a club). The cost of registering as a non-playing official is $40 per year (from March to March).
BNA requires all Club Officials (Coaches, Managers and Umpires) to undergo the Working with Children Suitability Check for the protection of our children and yourself. A form is available here. Once you have completed this form, please contact your Club secretary directly to organise the lodgement process. There is no cost to apply.
We would encourage all coaches to make use of the following links.
